FC Dallas vs. Real Salt Lake

This was a laugher. Real Salt Lake looked terrible. It was the biggest crowd to go with me to see a game that we had had in a while. It was ball night, so the first "5000" kids got a soccer ball. (I have been told by a source in the Rangers ticket office that they actually give out stuff to way more than the announced number.) So, Olivia went and brought her friend Hannah, and Steve brought Cameron. All three of them were able to get balls and all three of them had a good time. The three extra tickets we got were not very close to my seats, but there was space around my seats, so we all sat down there. And, FC Dallas looked good, RSL looked horrible. Very early, we got a centering pass that Carlos Ruiz nodded into the back of the net. Very nice. Not long after that, Kenny Cooper got an incredible goal. He dribbled it up the side, stopped just outsdie the penalty box and shot. We were in the perfect place to see that it was headed way wide of the goal. But then it started bending and bending and bending and landed in the side net. Unbelievable. I am not sure how to do links, but if you go to http://fc.dallas.mlsnet.com/t104/ this week, you can see the video of the shot. It was bee-ay yoot i full. So, we're up 2-0. The problem is just last week, we had played RSL and been killing them and let down and they came back and won 3-2. So, there was some danger of let down. Fortunately, although there was a slight misstep allowing RSL to score once, FC Dallas maintained enough focus to win 2-1 and clinch a playoff spot. In fact, they will either be 1 or 2 and unless they lose all of their last three games, they will be the one seed. So looking good. Next up, the regular season home finale vs. LA.

Whew! how do you find time? Ah, to be young again. Was it Twain that said "youth is wasted on the young?"
