I give this one a Wobbly Thumbs Down. I thought it was mostly uneven. There was a moment early on where I was amazed at how bad it was. But, then it turned on a little bit of schmaltz, a little bit of humor, and found its way to a wobbler. I generally like Adam Sandler. Kate Beckinsale is quite easy on the eye. Beyond that, it was a bit like a hey wouldn't it be cool... stretched out for an hour and a half. I thought Adam Sandler's kids were pretty good as adults. I thought Sean Astin was funny in bits. But mostly, it was not very good. I don't have much more to say about it.

Nice fantasy, unappealing movie.

Did you know that "schmalz" means "chicken fat" in Yiddish?
